What has to be on a rent receipt?

Tenant and landlord names, the property address, the amount, the payment date and the rental period it covers. Cash payments should also say how it was paid.

Can it cover a part payment?

Yes. Record the amount actually received and note the balance outstanding, rather than writing it up as a full month.

Is it free to use this template?
